AU Giving Day

Every year, our community comes together during the 36-hour AU Giving Day with one goal: to make a difference. This call for our community to stand together ensures that AU remains a catalyst for change. More than 1330 Eagles made a gift, helping the university realize nearly $150,000 in matches and challenges. THANK YOU!

Why you? Because Changemaking is in your DNA. Why now? Because Change Can’t Wait.

SAVE THE DATE: February 27-28, 2023

American University has a history of waging peace, inspired by President Dwight D. Eisenhower's call at the School of International Service's founding. AU prepares tomorrow's leaders with this enduring commitment to serving the global community.

Last night's @AmericanUAlum Award winners highlight the amazing achievements that speak to our values, our shared AU spirit, and the high aspirations this community sets for itself – aspirations that we so often exceed. #AUChangeCantWait #OnceAnEagle #AlwaysAnEagle

We had a wonderful 2022 Alumni Awards Dinner and Ceremony last night and loved being joined by @AmericanU President @SylviaBurwell and our Alumni Board in recognizing this year’s award recipients.

This! " campuses have been investing in fancy infrastructures — increasing their operational costs and pouring money into athletic programs...while lowering their instructional costs." #AUChangeCantWait

Universities, both public & private, have been gradually moving away from their mission-driven models to market-driven models.

We Agree, it’s time to challenge the Corporate University.

Solidarity with our @WeMakeWAMU colleagues as they continue pushing for better working conditions. #AUChangeCantWait #UnionStrong #1u

as the @WeMakeWAMU stewards head back to the bargaining table this morning, i want to take a second to shout out one of our newer unit members — the venerable @amanduhgomez. she's a fierce reporter, and we've been lucky to have her input in negotiations the last couple months.
